HOP Connect App Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how HOP Tech ("HOP Tech", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects information in connection with the HOP Connect mobile application (the "App"). HOP Connect is used to connect to, test, configure, and demonstrate HOP wearable devices over Bluetooth Low Energy.

Information We Collect
- Wearable and sensor data shown, recorded, or exported through the App, such as heart rate, motion, electrodermal activity, oxygen saturation, temperature, device status, timestamps, and related measurements where enabled by the connected device.
- Device information such as wearable identifiers, firmware and hardware versions, battery level, Bluetooth signal strength, connection state, and supported capabilities.
- Session and diagnostic data such as session metadata, logs, download status, export files, and troubleshooting information.
- Technical data such as app version, device and platform information, crash reports, and support information.
How We Use Information
- Connect to and manage HOP wearable devices.
- Display live sensor data and device status in the App.
- Start, stop, download, review, and export wearable sessions.
- Support firmware updates, diagnostics, testing, and demonstrations.
- Maintain security, reliability, support, and regulatory compliance.
How We Share Information
HOP Tech does not sell personal data. We share data only with:
- Authorized HOP Tech personnel who need access for testing, support, or operations.
- Approved study or customer teams when the App is used in an approved project.
- Service providers needed to operate, secure, support, or troubleshoot the App.
- Cloud hosting, storage, analytics, crash-reporting, or support providers where configured.
- Authorities or parties where legally required.
Local Storage, Exports, and Transfers
HOP Connect may store session data, logs, diagnostics, and export files on the device running the App. Users may choose to export or share files from the App. When data is exported or shared outside the App, the selected destination's privacy and security practices may also apply.
Secure Handling
- Communication with HOP wearable devices uses Bluetooth Low Energy.
- Network communications, where used, are transmitted over encrypted connections.
- Access to production systems is limited by operational controls and safeguards.
Data Retention
Data is retained for as long as needed to provide the App, support active testing or approved projects, satisfy contractual, research, regulatory, safety, support, and legal obligations, and maintain auditability. Data stored locally in the App may be removed using available in-app controls or by deleting the App, subject to device operating-system behavior.
Data Deletion
Users or administrators can request deletion of data by emailing admin@hoptech.ca. Requests should include enough detail to identify the relevant app, device, session, project, or account information.
HOP Tech will verify authorization before deleting data. Some data may need to be retained when required for legal, contractual, safety, audit, backup, research-integrity, or regulatory obligations.
Children and Research Participants
HOP Connect is not directed to children. Where research participants, including minors, contribute data through an approved study or project, the data is handled under the governing study protocol, consent forms, and institutional or ethics committee requirements applicable to that project.
International Processing
HOP Tech is based in Bromont, Canada. Data may be processed and stored in Canada or in other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. Where required, we put in place appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers consistent with applicable law and customer agreements.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated through the App or by other reasonable means.
